White-hat researcher Quit rescued 23K NFTs worth ~$6M from LimitBreak Payment Processor V2 exploit; separately, Bitget lost $351M in a backend compromise.
Security & Exploits ·
A security researcher named Quit led a white-hat recovery effort that retrieved 23,155 NFTs valued near $6 million following an exploit in LimitBreak's Payment Processor V2 smart contract. The intervention came after an initial attacker had moved 3,832 NFTs from more than 100 wallets, prompting the recovery operation. Quit committed to returning the recovered assets once they could be secured safely.
The rescue involved coordination around contract permissions, as holders were advised to revoke prior approvals before any tokens would be transferred back. The initial breach drained approximately 660 WETH alongside the NFT transfers, amounts that did not get recovered in the white-hat operation.
Separately, Bitget faced a distinct security incident during the same period, with a compromised backend leading to the loss of over $351 million in cryptocurrency. XRP comprised the largest portion of the stolen assets in that breach.
