Proof of Play, the game studio behind Pirate Nation, is ceasing operations after being unable to build a scalable, sustainable business around its blockchain gaming model. The studio is open-sourcing its code, art, and smart contracts, while the Founder Pirates NFTs and Pirate Nation IP have been made available under a CC0 license. The Pirate Nation Foundation will continue independently to support the $PIRATE token, and the game Shiba Story Go! has been acquired by a third party.
