Cathie Wood's ARK Venture Fund is now available in tokenized form on Ethereum through Securitize, lowering the entry point for investors to $500.
The launch tokenizes the ARK Venture Fund, giving investors onchain exposure to a portfolio that includes stakes in OpenAI and Anthropic, according to Coindesk. The partnership pairs ARK Invest's existing venture fund structure with Securitize's tokenization infrastructure, putting fund shares onchain rather than creating a new investment vehicle from scratch.
The $500 minimum investment marks a sharp reduction from the account minimums typically associated with venture-stage private funds, which have historically been restricted to institutional or high-net-worth investors. By moving the fund onto Ethereum, Securitize is applying the same onchain-fund model it has used elsewhere to a portfolio built around exposure to prominent AI companies rather than public equities or fixed income.
The move sits alongside other recent ARK Invest activity extending beyond its core ETF business, including a tie-up with Kalshi to fold prediction-market data into portfolio decisions and comments from ARK Invest describing convergence between AI and biology as a driver of new life-sciences investment themes. Those threads point to a broader pattern of ARK Invest experimenting with newer market structures and data sources alongside its traditional fund lineup, of which the Securitize tokenization is the latest example applied to private-market access.
What remains unclear is how trading, custody, and secondary liquidity for the tokenized shares will function on Ethereum, and whether the $500 minimum will be paired with additional eligibility requirements typical of venture fund investments. Also unresolved is whether other ARK Invest products will follow the Venture Fund onto Securitize's platform, and how demand for tokenized access to OpenAI and Anthropic exposure compares with ARK's existing ETF vehicles.
