Bitcoin moved above $62,000 following weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data from June, which showed approximately 57,000 jobs added. In a separate development, Securitize debuted on the New York Stock Exchange and placed $295 million of its shares on the Solana and Avalanche blockchains. The company has backing from BlackRock.
Japan's SBI Crypto announced the closure of its Bitcoin mining pool on July 31. The pool currently represents roughly 2 percent of Bitcoin's total hashrate. Meanwhile, sharp price movements in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP triggered liquidations across cryptocurrency short positions as these assets reached weekly highs.
The broader institutional adoption of tokenization continues to expand, with eToro, Anchorage, and Ondo among entities moving into decentralized finance and onchain derivatives. Whether these developments will sustain price momentum or represent a temporary correction remains unclear, as does the longer-term impact of SBI's mining pool closure on Bitcoin's network security.
