Chainlink has released CCIP 2.0, making the upgraded cross-chain interoperability protocol available to institutions and digital asset issuers. The protocol has secured over $84 billion in total cross-chain token value, with $15 billion in token value migrating to CCIP over the past four months, including contributions from BitGo's WBTC, Coinbase's cbBTC, and Kraken's kBTC. CCIP 2.0 is designed to address institutional barriers around cost, control, and security for operating across blockchains, with adoption from financial institutions and infrastructure partners including Amazon Web Services, Deutsche Börse Group's Crypto Finance, Fidelity International, and Google Cloud.
