Cosmostation, the second-largest wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem, will discontinue services starting September 1, retaining only seed phrase and private key export functions.

Cosmostation, which has held the second position by market share in the Cosmos ecosystem since 2018, is winding down wallet operations. Beginning September 1, the service will restrict functionality to seed phrase and private key export only, with remaining features phased out across iOS, Android, and Chrome extension platforms before the application ceases operation entirely.
The shutdown eliminates most wallet capabilities while preserving users' ability to recover their credentials. This leaves holders dependent on alternative wallets to manage their Cosmos assets going forward, as the platform that previously served as a major access point for ecosystem participation becomes inaccessible for standard wallet functions.
The transition raises questions about whether users will migrate holdings to competing wallets or exit the ecosystem, and whether the discontinuation signals broader challenges in the wallet's business model or reflects a strategic pivot by its operators. No statement has been issued explaining the rationale for the shutdown.
