Ether.fi's Zeal card services ending December 20 with optional user migration available; acquisition does not transfer user accounts or funds.

Ether.fi announced its acquisition of Zeal on October 23, 2026, and opened an optional migration pathway for Zeal users to move assets to its account and card offering. The acquisition covers only selected assets; user accounts, private keys, and funds remain outside the deal's scope. Zeal's wallet and Gnosis Pay card services will wind down by December 20, 2026, with migration described as wholly elective—no balances or assets move without explicit user action at each step.
The migration process runs through four stages: users initiate from the Zeal home screen, verify via emailed code, transfer selected balances and assets into a new ether.fi account, and complete identity verification. Supported assets transfer without conversion; unsupported assets are automatically swapped and incur network fees, potentially reducing their value. The migration establishes a separate legal relationship with ether.fi, placing users under its distinct terms and privacy policy.
Users holding Zeal balances have alternative paths to retain access. Gnosis Pay's migration guide advises adding a second owner—such as MetaMask or Rabby—to the underlying Safe to manage the account post-Zeal closure without using the Zeal interface. For euro cardholders, the guide recommends Rebind's partner migration route, which carries over the existing card and IBAN without requiring new verification. The full details of how earn-product positions are handled under ether.fi's published flow remain unspecified.
