Grayscale launches in-kind investing service enabling direct digital asset-to-fund share exchanges for 10 crypto assets without cash conversion.

Grayscale has rolled out an in-kind investing service that permits eligible investors to swap digital assets directly into shares of its funds, bypassing the need to convert crypto to cash first. The offering spans 10 products covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Sui, Ripple, and Zcash, according to Grayscale's announcement.
The mechanism addresses two potential pain points for users moving assets into institutional structures: it can lower the burden of maintaining self-custody and reduce transaction expenses. By accepting digital assets directly rather than requiring dollar-denominated purchases, the service aims to bridge the gap between decentralized holdings and traditional investment vehicles.
Grayscale has separately expanded in-kind subscription access across its suite of crypto ETFs and trusts, with minimum investment thresholds ranging from approximately $80,300 to $364,800. Details on which product categories qualify for the new in-kind mechanism and how participation will operate at scale remain less defined.
