Keeta has partnered with LayerZero to enable tokenized bank deposits across nine currencies on four public blockchains, according to LayerZero. The initiative leverages LayerZero's omnichain messaging protocol, which allows applications to operate across multiple chains while maintaining modular control over message validation and security configurations.
LayerZero functions as a cross-chain messaging layer that addresses fragmentation in multi-chain ecosystems by enabling developers to send arbitrary data—including token movements—between blockchains without requiring a single centralized bridge operator. Rather than locking assets and minting wrapped versions, the protocol allows each application to configure its own security stack using different Decentralized Verifier Networks and other controls tailored to specific use cases.
The partnership signals institutional interest in LayerZero following a $292M exploit affecting Kelp DAO's rsETH token in April 2026, which prompted over 15 protocols to freeze LayerZero bridging and led major platforms like Kraken to migrate to competing solutions. It remains unclear whether Keeta's implementation will incorporate additional security measures in response to these prior incidents or what timeline the deployment will follow.
