machine.fun launches Ignition, a token escrow platform enabling founders to lock tokens at preset sale prices.
Tech & Launches ·
machine.fun has launched Ignition, a token escrow platform that allows founders to lock cryptocurrency tokens at predetermined sale prices. Under the mechanism, if a token's market value rises to specified thresholds, the founder receives payment gradually through automated limit orders; if the token does not reach those price points, the founder receives nothing. All terms are locked at creation and cannot be modified afterward.
The platform addresses what its developers characterize as misalignment in existing funding structures for hardware projects. Founders launching on machine.fun may purchase up to 75 SOL worth of tokens at launch, then optionally deposit a portion into escrow with defined price triggers—for instance, selling 2 to 5 percent at market caps ranging from 5 million to 100 million dollars. Sale proceeds flow into escrow with withdrawal limits to pre-selected wallets, making founder liquidity events transparent and pace-locked to build timelines rather than hidden through bundled wallet transfers.
The mechanism remains optional but is recommended for all teams. Ignition is described as the initial component of a broader funding framework designed for projects requiring years to develop physical hardware, where traditional venture capital allocation, community rounds, trading fees, and undisclosed token sales have created structural incentives misaligned with long-term builder success.
