Metaplex introduced MPL-3643, a new Solana standard enabling issuers to tokenize real-world assets and securities with built-in compliance controls rather than relying on wrapped models. The standard embeds issuer-configurable functionality including transfer restrictions, lockup periods, wallet verification, and jurisdictional limits directly into assets while maintaining composability through Token-2022, sRFC 37, and the Solana Attestation Service. MPL-3643 is now live on Solana mainnet in limited early access, with integrations from Solflare, Raydium, Orca, Phantom, and Jupiter Exchange already in place, though the protocol has not yet been audited.
