MoneyGram partners with Arc platform to enable bridging between fiat and onchain flows.
Tech & Launches ·
MoneyGram will integrate with Arc to facilitate movement between traditional currency and onchain assets. Arc is Circle's stablecoin-native layer-1 blockchain designed around USDC as native gas, offering sub-second finality and built-in foreign exchange capabilities. The partnership positions MoneyGram to leverage Arc's infrastructure for cross-border payment flows.
Arc was launched with backing from a $222 million token raise at a $3 billion fully diluted valuation, supported by institutional investors including BlackRock, Apollo, and ICE. The chain operates currently under proof-of-authority governance with a planned transition to proof-of-stake, and incorporates post-quantum security measures. Early adopters include Aave, Aerodrome, and Visa's settlement pilot.
The scope and timeline of the MoneyGram integration—including which specific fiat corridors or transaction volumes it will handle—have not been disclosed. How the partnership will navigate regulatory requirements across MoneyGram's existing remittance license and Arc's emerging institutional framework remains unclear.
