RWA Chain, a new OP Stack L2 for compliant real-world asset settlement, has launched with sub-cent fees and ~2 second blocks.

RWA Chain, an OP Stack layer-2 blockchain, has launched to facilitate compliant settlement of tokenized real-world assets including real estate, treasuries, credit instruments, and commodities. The protocol operates with approximately 2-second block times and sub-cent transaction fees, incorporating protocol-level compliance checks designed for the settlement phase—the final, irreversible transfer of ownership on-chain. Tokenization itself creates the digital claim, while settlement executes the binding ownership change.
The layer-2 is built on the OP Stack framework and was launched by the team behind the initiative. Real-world asset tokenization enables fractional ownership and continuous market access, features difficult to achieve with traditional settlement infrastructure. The compliance-focused architecture suggests an attempt to bridge institutional asset classes with blockchain infrastructure while maintaining regulatory alignment.
The chain is in early operational stages. Questions remain about liquidity depth across different asset classes, adoption by institutional participants, and how protocol-level compliance mechanisms will function across varying jurisdictions and asset types. Long-term viability will depend on ecosystem growth and actual settlement volumes.
