Sablier Labs enters maintenance mode until June 2028, pausing new development while keeping existing streams and the protocol operational.

Sablier Labs announced it has stopped active development and entered maintenance mode through June 2028, citing a sharp drop in usage and revenue during the first quarter of 2026. The company will cease accepting new vesting streams or airdrops with end dates beyond June 2028 and will not deploy to new blockchains, though it continues supporting existing users' streams, vestings, and airdrops through the official interface without interruption.
The shift reflects a reassessment of the business model underlying token distribution and money streaming infrastructure. While acknowledging real demand for these services—evidenced by the value flowing through the Sablier protocol—the team concluded the market cannot support a venture-scale independent business on a viable timeline. Prior strategic bets, including Lockup NFTs for collateral and Sablier Mainnet, a custom EVM rollup designed to enable subscriptions between wallets natively, did not generate sufficient traction to sustain growth.
The Sablier smart contracts themselves will remain deployed indefinitely on Ethereum and other networks, operating independently of the company's status. After June 2028, the protocol will transition stewardship to the community, with the interface expected to become an open-source public good. The exact plan for long-term hosting and community governance will be published before the maintenance period concludes.
