Ink moves chain operations to Optimism's fully managed enterprise infrastructure
Tech & Launches ·
Kraken-incubated Ink has signed a multi-year deal to run its chain operations on Optimism's OP Enterprise Fully Managed infrastructure.
The upgrade shifts Ink's underlying chain management to Optimism's managed service, according to The Block, which reported the multi-year infrastructure agreement. Ink was incubated by Kraken, and the move places its operations under Optimism's enterprise-grade offering rather than a self-managed setup. The arrangement is described as a partnership between the two projects, with Optimism providing the fully managed layer that Ink will rely on going forward.
The deal lands alongside a separate rollout on the Optimism side: Sunnyside Labs has launched Privacy Boost, a hybrid ZK-TEE module for the OP Stack that enables confidential transfers and private smart contracts. The tool combines zero-knowledge proofs with trusted execution environments to mask transaction data while still allowing verification, a design aimed at letting regulated entities operate on public blockchains. Sunnyside Labs frames the module as meeting MiCA and GDPR compliance requirements, positioning it for institutions that need privacy guarantees without abandoning public-chain infrastructure.
Coverage of the privacy launch casts it as part of a broader enterprise push for Optimism. Decrypt describes Privacy Boost as a turning point for enterprise use of Ethereum-based infrastructure, and the feature is expected to expand across multiple blockchains beyond Optimism's own stack. Taken together with the Ink infrastructure deal, the two developments point to Optimism building out both the managed-service and privacy layers that enterprise-facing projects have been requesting.
A post on X from the jinglejamOP account also circulated details tied to the announcements, adding to the five distinct sources tracking the cluster.
What remains unspecified is the financial scope of the Ink-Optimism agreement, including deal value and the exact duration covered by "multi-year." Similarly unclear is the timeline for Privacy Boost's expansion to other chains and which specific blockchains are next in line. Whether other Optimism-based or Kraken-incubated projects will pursue similar managed-infrastructure or privacy-module arrangements has not yet been addressed in the reporting so far.
