Luxor Technology raises $16M Series A led by CMT Digital for AI-powered compute trading and hardware infrastructure.
VC & Fundraising ·
Luxor Technology, a full-stack compute platform, has secured $16 million in a strategic funding round led by CMT Digital, with participation from hardware manufacturers Canaan and MicroBT alongside investors Halo, Steelhead, and others. The round comprises both primary and secondary capital, with each backer bringing operational expertise across hardware, power, and capital segments of the compute supply chain.
The funding follows Luxor AI's launch in September, expanding the company's existing Bitcoin mining infrastructure into artificial intelligence and high-performance computing markets. The company has established operational scale: its hardware brokerage has moved $1 billion in ASIC equipment, its energy services manage more than 75 MW across ERCOT and SPP regions, and its cloud platform processed 1.8 million workloads by September. Luxor intends to deploy capital toward scaling its cloud platform, financing AI hardware inventory, expanding derivatives and market-making operations, and hiring engineering and go-to-market talent.
CMT Digital's backing reflects recognition that compute itself is becoming a traded financial asset requiring risk-management tools. Luxor already operates an over-the-counter desk offering options, forwards, and backstops on compute-rental indexes. The company sources GPUs and servers as a Value-Added Reseller with access to abandoned allocations and secondary markets, positioning it to help navigators of increasingly complex global chip supply chains.
