MoonPay acquires North Capital, a private-markets platform handling $8.7B in transaction volume.
VC & Fundraising ·
MoonPay, a Miami-founded crypto payments infrastructure company, is acquiring North Capital, a private-markets platform that processes $8.7B in transaction volume. The deal marks an expansion of MoonPay's footprint beyond its core fiat onramp business into institutional private markets infrastructure.
MoonPay has evolved from a simple embeddable widget enabling credit card and bank transfer purchases of crypto into a multi-layered platform spanning consumer onramps, stablecoin settlement rails, institutional MPC custody, and AI-native payment tools across 200+ blockchain networks. The company operates under money transmitter licenses across most U.S. states and holds FCA registration in the UK. North Capital's private-markets capabilities and transaction volume suggest MoonPay is deepening its institutional-grade offering.
Terms and timing of the acquisition have not been disclosed. It remains unclear how North Capital's platform will integrate with MoonPay's existing infrastructure or what specific product synergies the deal is intended to unlock.
