Robinhood acquires minority stakes in Crypto.com and OG.com, signaling retail brokerage expansion into crypto exchanges.
VC & Fundraising ·
Robinhood has partnered with Crypto.com to roll out event contracts through OG.com, the prediction-markets platform operated by Crypto.com, according to reporting on the deal. As part of the arrangement, Robinhood will hold minority equity stakes in both Crypto.com and OG.com. The partnership values OG.com at $5 billion, a valuation based on an investment by Citadel Securities in July.
The move represents Robinhood's latest step into the prediction-markets sector, building on the brokerage's existing crypto trading operations. By taking equity positions alongside the operational partnership, Robinhood is tying its financial interests to the growth of OG.com's platform and Crypto.com's broader business.
The precise terms of the equity stakes—including their size, vesting schedules, or any governance rights—have not been disclosed. The extent to which Robinhood's presence will drive adoption of OG.com's contracts among retail traders, or how the arrangement will evolve as prediction markets face ongoing regulatory scrutiny, remains unclear.
