Mysten Labs and Google Cloud partner to build Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), a framework enabling cryptographic verification of AI agent actions onchain with integration to Sui's x402 payment standard.

Mysten Labs and Google Cloud have announced a joint initiative to develop the Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), an infrastructure framework for cryptographically verifying that AI agents operate within authorized parameters. The system separates private operational data—including execution prompts, outputs, and policy decisions—which remain stored in customer-managed Google Cloud infrastructure, from cryptographic proofs that anchor to the Walrus storage protocol and coordinate through the Sui network.
VAA targets B2B transaction verification and aims to mitigate risks from unauthorized prompt injections. The framework integrates with Sui's x402 payment standard, allowing autonomous agents to independently discover services, execute payments, and record settlement evidence directly onchain. This design enables a verifiable audit trail for agent-initiated transactions while keeping sensitive operational details private.
The partnership represents an early convergence of AI agent infrastructure with blockchain settlement and storage layers, though the maturity of the system and timeline for broader deployment remain unspecified.
