Anchorage Digital adds custody support for Tempo stablecoins OUSD and USDT0.
DeFi & Yields ·
Anchorage Digital Bank, a regulated custody provider, has extended its services to assets issued on the Tempo network, including the stablecoins OUSD, USDT0, USDC.e, and pathUSD. Institutions can now hold, withdraw, and transfer these assets through Anchorage's federally chartered entity, integrating custody operations with on-chain holdings via Tempo's oracle-backed wallet infrastructure.
The partnership addresses institutional adoption hurdles by embedding custody within familiar compliance frameworks. Anchorage has also adopted TIP-20, Tempo's token standard, enabling rapid onboarding of new stablecoins to its custody offering—potentially within days once regulatory requirements are met. This approach aims to decouple custody infrastructure delays from token launches, allowing issuers to include institutional-grade custody as part of their distribution strategy from inception.
The extent to which this custody integration will drive transaction volume on Tempo, or how quickly issuers will adopt the TIP-20 pathway for new assets, remains to be observed. Tempo announced the development on X.
