BancaStato becomes the first bank on Avaloq's SaaS platform to offer in-app crypto trading via Sygnum integration.

BancaStato has become the first bank operating on Avaloq's SaaS platform to offer in-app cryptocurrency trading through an integration with Sygnum. The partnership enables customers to access regulated crypto asset services directly within their banking interface without requiring the bank to independently develop or maintain trading infrastructure.
Under the arrangement, Sygnum supplies licensing, custody, and trading infrastructure while BancaStato retains responsibility for its own regulatory compliance. This model allows banks to launch crypto offerings in months rather than years. The timing aligns with Sygnum Europe's receipt of regulatory authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, which became effective after the transitional period ended on July 1.
The specific terms of the partnership—including transaction volumes, asset coverage, fee structures, or rollout timeline—remain undisclosed. It is also unclear whether other banks using Avaloq's platform plan similar integrations with Sygnum or other crypto infrastructure providers.
