Blanket launches a tool enabling small businesses to hedge real-world risk exposures using Kalshi's event contracts.
DeFi & Yields ·
Blanket, a research tool designed to help small businesses identify hedging opportunities, has launched with integration to Kalshi's event contract markets. The platform enables users to input their business risk exposures and receive matching suggestions from available Kalshi contracts, allowing visualization of potential hedge costs and payouts. A trucking fleet, for example, could input diesel price exposure and view corresponding WTI crude markets alongside estimated protection costs.
The tool connects real-world business risks to Kalshi's event-based derivatives, expanding the potential use cases for such contracts beyond financial trading. Users describe their exposures or promotional goals, and the system surfaces relevant live markets for either risk mitigation or marketing purposes. The matching process appears designed to simplify what would otherwise require manual identification of suitable hedging instruments.
Blanket is currently a research product undergoing testing, with plans to open source the tool following that phase. The extent of current market coverage, the sophistication of the matching algorithm, and the timeline for broader availability remain unspecified.
