Bybit debuts perpetual options on SpaceX and Nvidia shares
DeFi & Yields ·
Bybit is opening a new derivatives category that lets traders hold options tied to equity perpetual contracts around the clock, starting with two names tied to SpaceX and Nvidia.
The exchange has introduced Perp Options, a product it positions as the first of its kind built on equity perpetual contracts rather than traditional dated futures. Trading in the initial pair, SPCX for SpaceX and NVDA for Nvidia, opens on September 17, 2026 at 20:00 UTC, according to Bybit's announcement.
Unlike conventional options markets that close outside standard trading hours, Perp Options run on a 24/7 basis, settle in USDT, and use a contract multiplier of 1, keeping the sizing simple relative to the underlying. The listings will sit inside Bybit's Unified Trading Account and Portfolio Margin framework, meaning positions in spot, perpetuals and options can be netted together for cross-hedging, and traders can construct combinations such as spreads, straddles and covered calls within that same margin pool, per Bybit.
Bybit has said the rollout will expand beyond the first two tickers, with Tesla, the Invesco QQQ trust, SOXL and Micron slated for addition later, alongside a broader set of expiry dates, as reported by WuBlockchain.
The move extends Bybit's push into equity-linked derivatives that mirror crypto-style perpetual structures, an approach that has drawn separate confirmation describing the same SpaceX and Nvidia listings as a round-the-clock options offering. What remains unclear is how liquidity and pricing will behave once the additional names and expiries go live, and whether continuous trading changes settlement or risk dynamics compared with standard listed equity options.
