Coinbase is expanding its "Everything Exchange" platform to Canada, combining stocks, crypto, and prediction markets in a regulated offering.

Eric Richmond, CEO of Coinbase Canada, confirmed the company is working to expand its "Everything Exchange" to Canadian users through a combined platform for crypto, stocks, exchange-traded funds, and prediction markets—all accessible from a single account. No launch date has been announced, though Coinbase says it is working closely with local regulators following its registration as the first international crypto exchange in Canada in April 2024.
The expansion builds on momentum in the U.S., where stock and ETF trading launched in February 2026 and prediction markets through Kalshi began in January. Tokenized stocks—blockchain-recorded shares that settle instantly and trade around the clock—are scheduled to reach non-U.S. customers this month, including Canada, with full dividend rights. Richmond framed the shift as addressing friction in traditional finance, where markets close at set times and wire transfers take days.
A key regulatory hurdle remains: the Bank of Canada is expected to finalize stablecoin regulations in 2027, which Coinbase identified as necessary before launching a Canadian dollar stablecoin and completing the Everything Exchange rollout in the country. No timeline has been set for the full Canadian launch pending that regulatory clarity.
