Ethena enables free minting and redemption of USDe with USDC, driving early traction on Robinhood's crypto yield product where Ethena already captures 70% of deposits.
DeFi & Yields ·
Ethena has rolled out zero-cost minting and redemption of its USDe stablecoin using USDC across both Coinbase and Robinhood vault integrations, removing friction for users looking to execute yield-generating strategies. The move allows participants to cycle capital between the stablecoin and yield-bearing positions without incurring transaction fees.
One week after Robinhood Crypto Earn's debut, Ethena already accounts for more than 70 percent of asset allocations sourced from customer deposits on the platform. The Steakhouse USDG vault on Robinhood Chain has attracted 34.05 million USDG in total deposits, with the majority—20.6 million USDG, or roughly 60 percent—allocated to a USDe/USDG market pair offering 5.35 percent annual percentage yield. An additional 8.46 million USDG flows into the syrupUSDG/USDG market at 5.24 percent APY, while the remaining liquidity sits idle.
The rapid concentration of Robinhood deposits into Ethena-related positions suggests strong user demand for the protocol's yield products. What remains unclear is whether this early allocation will hold as the platform matures and competing yield strategies gain visibility, or if capital will diversify across other offerings.
