Galaxy launches Galaxy Onchain Financing Rate (GOFR) to route institutional credit access through DeFi protocols including Aave, Morpho, Spark, and Kamino.

Galaxy has launched the Galaxy Onchain Financing Rate (GOFR), a product designed to give institutions access to onchain credit through decentralized finance protocols. The initiative routes capital through Aave, Morpho, Spark, and Kamino, among other platforms, enabling these protocols to receive additional institutional capital flows.
The mechanism channels institutional credit demand directly into existing DeFi lending infrastructure rather than requiring new intermediary layers. By funneling this capital through established protocols, Galaxy aims to bridge the gap between traditional institutional finance and onchain lending markets.
The long-term impact on adoption rates and the scale of institutional capital that will actually flow through GOFR remain to be seen. It is also unclear whether other DeFi protocols beyond those named will be added to the routing network over time.
