Galaxy launches GOFR, a managed institutional onchain lending program for accessing credit markets.
DeFi & Yields ·
Galaxy has launched GOFR (Galaxy Onchain Financing Rate), a fully managed lending program enabling institutional clients to access onchain credit markets through a single counterparty rather than directly with DeFi protocols. Clients borrow at an optimized rate and face Galaxy as their borrowing partner, with a minimum loan size of $1 million. Galaxy commits up to $100 million in first-loss capital protection, and the program is available to institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and accredited investors.
The program aggregates variable rates from leading onchain lending protocols including Aave, Morpho, Spark, and Kamino, dynamically blending them into a continuously rebalanced rate that Galaxy offers to clients. Galaxy handles all operational aspects—sourcing, execution, servicing, collateral monitoring, and risk management—eliminating the need for clients to manage wallets, private keys, or smart contracts directly. Native BTC can be posted as collateral with Galaxy handling the wrapping process on the client's behalf.
Galaxy is publishing daily GOFR rates on its website as a public reference for institutional onchain financing, showing indicative rates across USDC, USDT, and ETH alongside 7-day and 30-day averages. The structure includes circuit breakers that halt new deployments if risk thresholds are exceeded. Actual loan terms remain variable and determined based on loan size, duration, risk parameters, and operational considerations.
