Movement has secured access to licensed payment rails across the United States, Canada, and the European Union, shifting its infrastructure focus toward cross-border payments, remittances, and yield-generating stablecoin products for emerging markets. The network says the licensed infrastructure allows fintechs, neobanks, and payment providers to build compliant products without acquiring money transmitter licenses themselves. Partners currently live on the network include KAST, Circle, Avant Protocol, Near Intents, Sorted Wallet, Yuzu Money, Oro, and Zoth. Simultaneously, the Movement Network Foundation executed a token buyback repurchasing approximately 19% of investor-allocated tokens, equal to 4.2% of total supply.
The remittance sector serving the Global South processes $685 billion annually while charging senders an average of 6.36% per transaction, with settlement typically taking two to five days. Stablecoin adoption is accelerating fastest in regions underserved by legacy banking infrastructure—$265 billion in stablecoin circulation globally generated $33 trillion in transaction volume in 2025, up 72% year-over-year. Across Latin America, West Africa, and Southeast Asia, USDT and USDC have become primary dollar savings vehicles where local banks have not, yet institutional-grade compliant infrastructure to build on top of stablecoins had been missing.
Movement's model integrates three layers: stablecoin issuance, clearing rails, and yield infrastructure under redemption pressure. Partners including USDCx and Avant Protocol cover these layers independently, while products like MovePosition and Canopy provide money markets and savings vault interfaces for downstream integration. What remains unclear is the scope and timeline of regulatory approval across each jurisdiction and how redemption demand will stress-test the yield layer at scale.
