Revolut will delist USDT next month, ending buys on July 6 with a withdrawal deadline following.
DeFi & Yields ·
Revolut has announced it will delist USDT, with a phased withdrawal plan communicated to users through app notifications and emails. The fintech platform will allow purchases of the stablecoin until July 6, stop accepting new deposits on July 30, and cease all support on August 31. Users can sell or withdraw USDT to external wallets through the August 31 deadline, after which any remaining USDT held in accounts will be automatically converted to fiat at prevailing rates.
The delisting marks a significant shift in stablecoin support at a major European fintech operator. The decision follows a pattern of platforms reassessing their crypto asset offerings, though the reason for Revolut's specific move remains unclear from the available information.
What is not yet known: whether other stablecoins or crypto assets will face similar treatment, whether this reflects regulatory pressure in Europe, or whether Revolut plans to support alternative stablecoins or payment rails going forward.
