Samsung Wallet will support USDC stablecoins, as demonstrated at Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung disclosed plans to integrate stablecoin functionality into its Wallet application during the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, presenting a demonstration that featured Circle's USDC. The company positioned this as a step toward embedding digital-value capabilities alongside existing payment infrastructure on its devices. Lee Dinham, Samsung's product manager, characterized the initiative as positioning the company among the first major smartphone manufacturers to offer native stablecoin support, though Samsung stopped short of naming a launch timeline, confirming specific issuers, or specifying which blockchain would be used.
The addition fits within Samsung's existing crypto infrastructure, which dates to 2019 when the company introduced Knox, a hardware-isolated storage mechanism for Galaxy phones. That foundation expanded over time to include hardware wallet compatibility in 2021 and a Coinbase integration that extended to 75 million U.S. Galaxy owners as of October 2025. The stablecoin feature arrives alongside the Galaxy Card, Samsung's first U.S. credit card issued by Barclays on the Visa network.
Several critical details remain unspecified. Samsung has not disclosed whether the stablecoin holdings would be custodial—held by Samsung or a third party—or non-custodial, with users retaining sole control of private keys. Additionally, while the mockup depicted USDC, Samsung has not formally confirmed Circle as a partner or committed to supporting any specific stablecoin issuer.
