Tokenized SPY jumps 1,300% in a month on Robinhood Chain
DeFi & Yields ·
Data from Token Terminal shows a small group of tokenized equities driving outsized gains and concentrated trading volume across decentralized exchanges.
A tokenized version of SPY deployed on Robinhood Chain climbed more than 1,300% over a 30-day span, pushing its market cap to $17.4 million, according to figures cited in a CryptoPotato report. The token's rise outpaced other tokenized stock products tracked over the same period, though it was far from alone in posting sharp gains.
Reality's rGOOGL, built on Arbitrum, rose 530.9%, while Binance's HOODb gained 428.7%. Several other tokenized names also recorded double- and triple-digit increases within the same month-long window, suggesting the rally extended beyond a single flagship asset into a broader set of issuers and chains.
Trading volume tells a narrower story than the price gains do. QQQb led all tokenized stocks in volume over the trailing 90 days at $4.5 billion, and together with two other tokens it helped generate $7.1 billion in decentralized exchange volume, roughly 45% of total activity in the tokenized equities category. That concentration indicates that while dozens of tokens are gaining in price, actual trading remains dominated by a small handful of products.
The pattern fits into a wider push toward on-chain versions of traditional securities, with Robinhood Chain positioned as one of the more active venues for this activity. The scale of gains, spanning both blue-chip proxies like tokenized Google and Robinhood's own stock, points to growing retail and platform-level appetite for equity exposure delivered through blockchain rails rather than conventional brokerages.
What remains unclear is whether the price surges reflect sustainable demand or thin liquidity amplifying moves in newly listed tokens with small market caps. It is also unresolved how regulators and platforms will address the risks tied to rapid, concentrated trading in assets that mirror real-world securities but trade under different settlement and custody rules. Further data from Token Terminal or additional coverage may clarify whether the volume concentration in QQQb and similar tokens persists as more tokenized products launch.
