Trade.xyz opens derivatives market tied to Anthropic's future stock
DeFi & Yields ·
The platform has launched a perpetual contract letting traders take positions on Anthropic shares ahead of any public listing.
Trade.xyz confirmed that its Pre-IPO Perpetual market for Anthropic, ticker ANT, is now active, according to a post from the platform. Each ANT contract tracks the value of one share of Anthropic, PBC Class A common stock, listed under the ticker ANT on Nasdaq, with pricing denominated in USD.
Because Anthropic has not yet gone public, the contract currently functions as a forward-looking instrument, pricing in what the market expects shares to be worth once a listing occurs. Trade.xyz has indicated that once the underlying stock actually lists, the ANT market is expected to transition into a conventional XYZ perpetual contract tied to the real traded price rather than a projected one.
Anthropic, known for building AI models and the Claude assistant, has not itself commented on the mechanics of this derivative product in the material reviewed. The structure allows exposure to anticipated equity value without requiring direct ownership of pre-IPO shares, a model that mirrors other pre-listing perpetual products but applies it specifically to a major AI company.
Trade.xyz has cautioned that pre-IPO markets like this one can see sharper price swings as participants recalibrate expectations about the eventual listing. To manage that volatility, the platform uses discovery bounds, limits on how far the mark price can drift from its reference price within a given window. During the current pre-IPO phase, the mark price may hit those bounds more often than it would in a standard market, temporarily capping movement until expectations settle. Trade.xyz has directed users to review its current configuration details for the ANT market and familiarize themselves with how discovery bounds operate before trading.
What remains unclear is when Anthropic might actually pursue a public listing, if at all, and how closely the pre-IPO contract's pricing will track any eventual real-world valuation. Also unresolved is how trading volume and volatility on ANT will evolve as more participants enter the market, and whether the discovery-bound mechanism will need adjustment as pricing data accumulates.
