Open interest in traditional finance perpetual futures traded on crypto exchanges has more than doubled since May, now exceeding $2 billion according to CryptoQuant data. Binance holds the largest position in this market segment, commanding approximately 35% of exchange open interest across both crypto and TradFi perpetual markets.
The expansion reflects a broader shift in how traditional financial assets are being accessed and traded. Crypto exchanges are positioning themselves as continuous, around-the-clock venues for onchain trading of conventional financial instruments, moving beyond their historical focus on digital assets alone.
What remains unclear is whether this growth trajectory will sustain, how regulatory scrutiny of TradFi products on crypto platforms may evolve, or which other exchanges are capturing meaningful share in the remaining 65% of the market.
