Visa has integrated Polygon into its global stablecoin settlement program.

Visa has extended its stablecoin settlement pilot across five blockchains—Base, Polygon, Canton, Arc, and Tempo—according to reporting on the expansion. The program has reached an annualized transaction volume of $7 billion with 50% quarter-over-quarter growth, marking accelerating adoption among settlement participants.
The pilot enables Visa partners to settle stablecoin transactions on these networks, broadening access beyond previous deployments. The inclusion of Polygon reflects its positioning as a payments-focused blockchain, a strategy Polygon Labs is reinforcing through separate talks to raise up to $100 million for a dedicated payments business.
The expansion demonstrates sustained institutional demand for blockchain-based settlement infrastructure, though specifics remain unclear on the distribution of volume across chains, the composition of settlement activity, and the timeline for moving beyond pilot status.
