Real-world asset tokenization has reached a $46.4 billion issued market cap, with activity shifting toward practical deployment rather than simple issuance. According analysis, $3.6 billion of that total—representing 7.8 percent—is currently deposited into decentralized finance venues, signaling growing traction for RWAs in productive onchain protocols.
Secondary market activity reflects this momentum. Decentralized exchange trading volume in RWAs hit $1.2 billion over the preceding 24-hour period, equivalent to 2.7 percent of the total issued market cap. This trading level indicates liquidity formation around tokenized assets, though the proportion remains modest relative to total issuance.
The figures suggest RWA adoption is transitioning from a supply-side story into one where deployed and traded volumes matter. However, it remains unclear whether the current 7.8 percent DeFi participation rate reflects infrastructure constraints, risk appetite limitations, or strategic asset allocation by issuers and holders.
