Fireblocks disputes Axios report of $2.5B Visa acquisition talks, stating the claims are not true.

Fireblocks has refuted reports that Visa is pursuing an acquisition of the crypto custody and infrastructure provider for approximately $2.5 billion. A company spokesperson stated the claim came as a surprise and is not accurate as of now. Visa declined to address the matter, saying it does not comment on rumors or speculation.
The reported transaction value would represent a significant markdown compared to Fireblocks' most recent public valuation. The company disclosed a valuation exceeding $8 billion following its Series E funding round in January 2022, with that figure cited as recently as mid-December 2025. The $2.5 billion price tag would therefore imply a substantial decline in the company's worth.
Axios initially reported the acquisition talks on Thursday, citing multiple unnamed sources familiar with the discussions and characterizing them as advanced in nature. What remains unclear is the basis for Axios' reporting and whether negotiations, if they occurred at any point, are ongoing or have concluded.
