Arkham intelligence ranks Bitcoin holdings across major entities, with Satoshi Nakamoto's 1.096M BTC leading ahead of Coinbase, Strategy, BlackRock, and Binance.

Intelligence platform Arkham has ranked Bitcoin holdings across major entities, finding that Satoshi Nakamoto's address holds approximately 1.096 million BTC—valued near $71 billion—making it the largest identified Bitcoin holder. Coinbase follows with roughly 981,000 BTC, trailed by Strategy at 844,000 BTC, BlackRock at 732,000 BTC, and Binance at 675,000 BTC.
The ranking extends to institutional and government holdings. The U.S. government controls approximately 325,000 BTC, largely through asset seizures accumulated over time. Individual wallet addresses paint a different picture: the two largest single wallets are both Binance cold storage accounts, holding roughly 249,000 BTC and 181,000 BTC respectively.
The data underscores concentration patterns in Bitcoin ownership, though questions persist around the methodology used to identify and attribute holdings to named entities versus pseudonymous accounts. Satoshi's coins remain largely unmoved since the network's early years, while the distinction between exchange reserves, institutional holdings, and government custody reflects varying degrees of liquidity and control.
