Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs recorded their strongest weekly inflows since April, with US Bitcoin ETFs attracting $853.5M and BlackRock's IBIT leading demand.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $853.54 million in net inflows for the week ended August 7, marking the strongest weekly inflow since mid-April, with BlackRock's IBIT product capturing $693 million of that total. Spot Ethereum ETFs similarly posted their strongest weekly inflows since April. The uptick suggests institutional capital is returning after sustained selling pressure earlier in the year, particularly following the July jobs report, which cooled expectations for additional Federal Reserve rate hikes.
However, this single week of strong inflows must be weighed against year-to-date performance: the US spot Bitcoin ETFs remain approximately $4.5 billion in net outflows. The first half of 2026 saw sustained withdrawals that contributed to Bitcoin declining 33 percent by the end of June. For a meaningful price rally to materialize, consistent inflows of this magnitude or greater will be required—historical data from recent bull runs suggests weekly inflows exceeding $1 billion on multiple occasions preceded substantial price appreciation.
The trajectory remains contingent on macroeconomic factors. The July Consumer Price Index, due August 12, will likely be pivotal in determining both the direction of future ETF flows and Bitcoin's price action in the near term.
