Iran and Oman have finalized an agreement granting Iran full control over the entrance to the Persian Gulf at the Strait of Hormuz, though the accord does not automatically reopen the waterway. Iran has relayed conditions for opening the strait to the U.S. through intermediaries, according to Tasnim. Yemeni Houthis simultaneously claim dominance over the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and state that only they and Iran now command access to both major chokepoints.
