Most planned tokenized stocks pulled from OKX-ICE venture after issuer pushback
Regulation & Gov ·
Fifty of 62 companies slated for tokenized share trading on OKXICE TSV have formally objected, cutting the venture's available offerings down to just 12.
The objections, filed under SEC rules that allow U.S. issuers 30 days from notification to block tokenized versions of their stock, now cover a majority of the companies OKXICE TSV had originally lined up. The platform is a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, according to wublockchain.xyz. Nvidia, Micron, Nike, Costco, and Reddit are among the most recent firms added to the objection list, per the same report.
The mechanism at play is straightforward: once notified that their equity would be made available in tokenized form, issuers have a defined window to formally reject the plan, and a rejection is binding. With 50 objections now on record against an initial roster of 62, OKXICE TSV's effective product offering has shrunk to roughly a fifth of what was originally proposed.
The development has been tracked across multiple reports, which converge on the same core figures — 50 objecting companies out of a planned 62 — while differing slightly in which names they highlight, with Nike, Nvidia, Costco, and Reddit appearing consistently. One account of the filings was also referenced via x.com.
The pattern suggests broad unease among listed U.S. companies about having their shares represented on crypto trading venues without direct control over the process, though none of the available material explains the specific rationale issuers gave for objecting. It also remains unclear whether the 12 companies that did not object will see active tokenized trading launch, or on what timeline.
What is not yet known is whether additional issuers could still file objections before relevant windows close, whether OKX and ICE plan any revised structure in response to the pushback, and how this episode might shape issuer responses to similar tokenization efforts planned by other exchanges. Four distinct sources have reported on the cluster so far, with figures aligned but no new detail yet on next steps from OKX, ICE, or the SEC.
