The protocol will handle application transfers and token movements across the multi-chain ecosystem where Aave operates, replacing or supplementing other bridge solutions for these core functions.
CCIP operates as a messaging and asset-transfer layer that uses a defense-in-depth oracle model to secure transactions across blockchains. Rather than relying on a single validation mechanism, the architecture incorporates an independent risk management layer and programmatic controls intended to reduce exposure to the kinds of bridge exploits that have historically generated large losses in DeFi.
