Hyperliquid users report withdrawal freezes via Unitxyz bridge after compliance flagging; protocol admits revert feature limitation caused the issue.
Regulation & Gov ·
A Hyperliquid user reported that 17 ETH (approximately $40,000) has remained inaccessible for over two months following a failed withdrawal attempt to Ethereum via the Unitxyz bridge. The user initiated the transaction on April 18th, and Unitxyz subsequently acknowledged that their Guardian compliance system had flagged the wallet for exceeding compliance thresholds, preventing consensus on the transfer.
When the user requested recovery through Unitxyz's stated revert mechanism, the protocol disclosed a critical gap: the revert feature does not currently handle flagged withdrawals originating from Hyperliquid. Unitxyz support indicated they were working to expand revert capabilities but offered no timeline or alternative remedy. The user contended that a straightforward solution existed—a treasury-backed refund paired with a subsequent transaction revert on the protocol's end—requiring no new engineering work.
The case remains unresolved despite the user's appeals to Hyperliquid and Unitxyz principals over a one-month period. The stalled funds have depreciated significantly since April; at current valuations, the user describes a $13,000 loss attributable to the protocol-side error. Whether other users face similar freezes in Unitxyz's support backlog is not yet documented.
