Nexo reaffirms compliance with EU regulatory requirements.
Regulation & Gov ·
Nexo announced that its operations across the European Economic Area now comply with MiCAR (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) ahead of the framework's entry into force. The platform achieves this through partnerships with two regulated entities: Tangany, which holds MiCAR licensing and provides custody infrastructure for digital assets, and DLT Finance, licensed under both MiCAR and authorized under MiFID II, which handles brokerage services.
The arrangement pairs Nexo's global wealth platform with dedicated European infrastructure by separating custody and brokerage functions across the two licensed partners. According to statements from company leadership, the testing phase has concluded and all Nexo services operate without disruption under this model.
The partnership structure positions Nexo among established digital asset platforms operating under MiCAR. The company notes it ranked among the top three largest centralized crypto lenders globally as of Q3 2025, though the material does not detail what specific regulatory timelines or approval processes remain outstanding, if any.
