Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency has established a dedicated cryptocurrency investigation unit within its National Command and Control Centre to probe money laundering and terrorism financing involving digital assets, according to the FIA's counter-terrorism chief. The new enforcement unit operates alongside the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, which handles regulation of the sector. The move represents the enforcement component of Pakistan's rapid crypto push, which has included lifting an eight-year banking ban on digital assets and advancing cryptocurrency exchange licenses.
