DTCC, the US securities settlement operator, is launching a tokenized securities platform with a July pilot and October full launch.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, which custodies $114 trillion in securities, plans to launch a tokenization service for real-world assets this year. Initial limited production trades are scheduled for July, with full service availability set for October 2026. The platform will support trading of Russell 1000 stocks, exchange-traded funds tracking major indexes, and U.S. Treasury instruments across a network developed with more than 50 financial firms.
The service emerged from an industry working group spanning traditional finance and crypto sectors. Participants include BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and Citadel Securities alongside crypto platforms Circle, Coinbase, and Kraken. DTCC's Depository Trust Company processes the majority of U.S. equity and fixed-income trades, positioning this tokenization infrastructure as potentially the largest bridge between traditional securities settlement and blockchain-based trading.
The initiative builds on regulatory progress made earlier this year when the SEC approved DTCC's pilot program to record securities on select blockchains via registered wallets. Whether the platform will achieve the liquidity and cross-chain interoperability needed for broad market adoption remains to be seen, as does the extent to which institutional demand will materialize at launch.
