JPMorgan launches pilot tokenizing ETF holdings via DTCC with 50+ institutional firms including BlackRock and Goldman Sachs.
RWA & Tokenization ·
JPMorgan has begun a pilot program to tokenize exchange-traded fund holdings through infrastructure operated by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). Over 50 companies have already connected to the same tokenization platform, which currently supports stocks and U.S. Treasury bonds; participants include BlackRock and Goldman Sachs.
The expansion into ETF tokenization builds on existing on-chain settlement infrastructure for traditional securities. The pilot suggests institutional appetite for broadening the range of assets available in tokenized form, potentially creating new collateral options within blockchain-based financial systems.
It remains unclear whether the pilot will expand to additional asset classes, what timeline exists for broader rollout beyond the initial participants, or what regulatory frameworks may govern tokenized ETF settlement at scale.
