Circle confirmed that Arc, its blockchain network for financial markets and money movement, will launch on public mainnet on September 16, 2026. The network has secured 11 founding validators including BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, and Sumitomo Corporation. The validator group represents a shift toward network security provided by the institutions deploying on the infrastructure itself.
Institutional adoption is advancing in parallel. BlackRock plans to deploy its BUIDL fund onto Arc, while DTCC is integrating tokenized settlement capabilities. Over 100 ecosystem and institutional builders are currently testing the network on its private mainnet phase. The validator arrangement is designed to meet trust, security, and compliance standards expected from critical financial infrastructure.
Several questions remain unresolved: the full scope of DTCC's settlement integration, the timing of BUIDL's deployment, and how the distributed validator model will perform under real-world transaction volume at scale remain to be tested following the September launch.
