Binance exploit attacker continues liquidating stolen altcoins, currently dumping $7.6M WBTC and holding $180M+ in additional altcoins across major DeFi tokens.
Security & Exploits ·
The attacker behind the Binance exploit has resumed liquidating stolen assets, converting 96.94 WBTC worth approximately $7.6 million into Ethereum. The ongoing activity represents part of a larger effort to move compromised holdings through decentralized finance venues, apparently to circumvent asset freezes that centralized exchanges could impose.
Beyond the WBTC conversion, the attacker maintains substantial positions across major altcoins and DeFi tokens. Holdings include approximately $39.51 million in ENA, $34.41 million in PEPE, $28.07 million in LINK, $15.9 million in AAVE, and smaller quantities spread across UNI, ARB, ONDO, WLD, and other tokens. The combined value of remaining altcoins exceeds $180 million.
The pattern of gradual conversion—shifting stolen assets from wrapped Bitcoin and altcoins into native Ethereum across decentralized exchanges—suggests a methodical approach to exiting positions while minimizing market impact and regulatory detection. The timing and scale of future liquidations remain unclear, though the size of remaining holdings indicates potential for significant downward pressure on affected token prices if large tranches are sold quickly.
