Renegade darkpool exploited; team offers whitehat terms (90% return + 10% bounty) to attacker within 72 hours.
Security & Exploits ·
An exploited darkpool protocol has made a public offer to the attacker via onchain message. The Renegade Darkpool team posted an onchain message proposing whitehat terms: the attacker may retain 10% of drained assets as a bounty in exchange for returning 90% within 72 hours, after which Renegade commits to forgo civil or criminal action and publicly classify the incident as a responsible disclosure.
The proposal reflects a structured response to the vulnerability. Renegade specified a return address and offered signed communication via security@renegade.fi to negotiate further. The 72-hour window creates a hard deadline for the attacker to decide whether to accept the terms or face potential legal consequences. The onchain medium allows both parties to reference the agreement transparently on the Arbitrum network.
It remains unclear whether the attacker will accept the offer, what the total value of drained assets represents, or what vulnerability enabled the drain. The success of the whitehat resolution depends on the attacker's willingness to engage and comply with the stated terms within the given timeframe.
