X100 Security is offering a settlement for a ~$4.8M exploit, requesting return of half ($2.42M USDT) within 24 hours with immunity from legal action.
Security & Exploits ·
X100 Security has posted an on-chain settlement proposal for approximately $4.8 million in stolen funds, offering the exploit actor immunity from prosecution in exchange for a partial return. The proposal requests $2,424,008.67 USDT—representing 50% of the realized amount—be sent to a designated Ethereum address within 24 hours, while the attacker retains the remainder as a bounty.
Upon receiving the full requested amount, X100 Security commits to cease legal action against the returning wallet, request removal of associated risk and sanction labels where applicable, and consider the matter closed for compliant parties. The settlement accepts payment in USDT on Ethereum's ERC-20 standard or in ETH at equivalent USD value at the time of transfer. The proposal, posted on-chain, carries a 24-hour expiration window.
It remains unclear whether the exploit actor will respond to the settlement offer or attempt to retain the full amount. The effectiveness of any sanction label removal depends on X100 Security's standing with the entities that imposed them, a condition the proposal explicitly qualifies.
